Goo Goo Takes the Big Apple!

Last week the Goo Goo Cluster crew, including our friends, the Hogslop String Band, traveled from Nashville to take on the Big Apple!

We kicked off the trip with an early morning appearance on Fox and Friends on Friday.

Fox and Friends co-anchor Steve Doocy wished Goo Goo a Happy 100th Birthday on air!

Then Friday night it was off to Broadway! The guests of Chaplin the Musical got a really sweet, surprise ending- Goo Goo Clusters!

Wayne Allen Wilcox, who plays the role of Sydney Chaplin, Charlie’s brother, just so happens to be a Tennessee native with ties to Goo Goo Cluster.  He performed at Opryland theme park when he was in high school. The theme park (sadly not around any longer), was also the home to the Grand Ole Opry, which Goo Goo Cluster was a sponsor of for 4 decades.

“Look at us, Goo Goo Clusters and me from Tennessee, bringing a yummy taste of home to Chaplin in NYC,” said Wilcox.

On Saturday, Dylan’s Candy Bar, the 3-story flagship store located at 3rd and 60th, celebrated Goo Goo Cluster Day!

Customers of all ages were excited to sample Goo Goo Clusters- many of them for the very first time.

Thankfully displays throughout the store were overflowing with Goo Goos, because as soon as they got a taste of the gooey confection, they wanted to know where they could find them. And they weren’t just picking up one- they were grabbing them by the handful!

From the top floor of Dylan’s, some delightful sounds started to trickle down the staircase….

The boys of Hogslop String Band had taken the floor, serenading patrons with some down home music, straight from Goo Goo Cluster’s home of Nashville, TN!

The crowd loved the band. Kids were dancing, clapping their hands, and grinning from ear to ear!

Goo Goo Cluster showed NYC a little Southern hospitality, and NYC showed us the love right back! We Heart The Big Apple!
