Yazoo and Goo Goo Collaborate on a New Beer

Two Nashville originals created something new—Goo Goo Ale! Yazoo Brewing Co and Goo Goo Cluster's seasonal collaboration is a delicious brown beer that is a unique gift and perfect for holiday celebrations.

To create the Goo Goo Ale, Yazoo’s brewers worked up a series of test batches, using ingredients like vanilla beans, peanut butter powder, and cacao nibs in a variety of dark ales.

“We had the beers ready, and tasted through them all with Beth and Valerie from Goo Goo Cluster, comparing the flavors of the beers with the candy. It was hard work, but someone had to do it!” said Linus Hall, owner of Yazoo Brewing.

Goo Goo Ale is a dark ale, steeped in the fermenter with real vanilla beans, peanut butter powder, and Ghanan cacao nibs. Available in the immediate Nashville market, “it won’t be around long, so grab some when you see it,” said Hall.

Goo Goo Cluster: America’s First Combination Candy Bar
In 1912, in a copper kettle at Standard Candy Company in Nashville, Tennessee, America’s first combination candy bar was born. The Original Goo Goo Cluster is a roundish mound of caramel, marshmallow nougat, fresh roasted peanuts, and real milk chocolate. Today, the Goo Goo Cluster is also available in two additional varieties: Pecan and Peanut Butter. Still family owned and operated, the brand expanded beyond manufacturing in 2014 with the opening of their flagship Goo Goo Shop & Dessert Bar located in downtown Nashville.
