Check it out! The new Goo Goo Outpost is #1 on Southern Living’s blog, The Daily South’s Hot List!
- May 20, 2013
101 years after the creation of the Goo Goo Cluster, we’re pleased to announce our first retail store! The Goo Goo Outpost is located on the grounds of Fontanel in North Nashville. For those not familiar, the Fontanel Mansion is a 27,000 square foot log home formerly owned by Country Music Hall of Fame member Barbara Mandrell. The home is situated on a 136-acre property nestled in the rolling hills of Whites Creek Valley just 10 minutes from downtown Nashville. In addition to the mansion and the Outpost, the property includes performance venues the Woods Amphitheater and the Studio Gallery, as well as family friendly activities like zip lines, a disc golf course, and several miles of bike and walking trails. The 2013 Southern Living Idea House and Pritchard’s Distillery, both currently under construction on the grounds, are set to open later this summer. The Goo Goo Outpost, housed in Fontanel’s historical dairy barn, will carry all three variations of the Goo Goo Cluster, a branded merchandise line, an array of nostalgic candies, and a selection of Bravo Gelato’s locally made gelatos, including their new Goo Goo Cluster Original and Chocolate Peanut Butter Goo Goo flavors. Please join us for our Grand Opening this Saturday, May 18th, where our Goo Goo mascots and Goo Goo girls will be on hand, we’ll have a sampling of confections to taste throughout the day and we’ll be giving out some fabulous prizes to shoppers! Come see us! Goo Goo Outpost 4225 Whites […]

The Greensboro News & Record’s article titled “What Everyone Should Know About the South” is a fun read and includes a nod to our very own Goo Goo Cluster! Greensboro News & Record: “We love grits. Reed calls it the national dish of the South. We love iced tea. It’s been called the ‘ceremonial drink of the South.’ We love Goo Goo Clusters, a candy bar of marshmallow, caramel, chocolate and peanuts marketed as ‘the South’s favorite candy.’ ” To read the article in its entirety, click here. facebook twitter pinterest google+

Driving from Palm Springs to Los Angeles. It was raining so hard, traffic was moving at 10 MPH and the windshield wipers were overwhelmed by the huge volume of rain pounding my car. I remembered that I had a box of Goo Goos in the trunk and the longer the rain lasted, the more I thought about that box of Goo Goos. Why not? I pulled over and casually walked to my trunk, getting totally drenched and grabbed that box of heaven. The remainder of my trip was a real pleasure. I was soaking wet, but every bite of my Goo Goos made my trip fabulous. I didn’t care how long the rain lasted or how long it would take to get to L.A. Goo Goos rule! — Alan Hamel
